Wakana Gojou is a fifteen year old high-school boy who was socially traumatized in the past due to his passions. That incident left a mark on him that made him into a social recluse. Until one day he had an encounter with Kitagawa who is a sociable gyaru, who is the complete opposite of him. They soon share their passions with one another which leads to their odd relationship.

Kafka Hibino is a 32-year-old member of the Professional Kaiju Cleanup Corp. His job as a Monster Sweeper is to chop up and dispose of Kaiju killed by the Defense Force. Kafka was also childhood friends with Mina Ashiro who he made a vow with to join the Defense Force together and protect Japan from Kaiju.   The story opens as middle school student Takao Kasuga receives an F on a math test.
